The Pilates method was developed in the early 1900s by German-born Joseph Pilates, son of a gymnast and naturopath. His technique unites body and mind to improve posture, strength, flexibility and mobility, as well as overall health, vitality and sense of wellbeing. Pilates can benefit anyone and everyone, no matter what age, fitness or physical ability.
