Vinyasa is a dynamic style of yoga, with a fairly fast pace and flow.
Instead of performing individual exercises with pauses in between, each posture is linked in synchronisation with the inhale and exhale of breath.
This creates a build-up of body heat, which helps to loosen the muscles. It means you can go deeper into a stretch than if you were doing the postures in a more traditional way.
Vinyasa is sometimes called ‘flow’ yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together, becoming almost like a dance.
