Saturday 6th June 2.00 – 4.00 PM
SUMMER is associated with holidays, fun and relaxation. This is the season of high energy and heat when nature is in full bloom with an array of colours and aromas. The energy of summer nourishes the HEART and SMALL INTESTINE. Naturally we want to feel lighter & joyful, follow our heart and live consciously with love and compassion. It is the time of year we need to lighten the body, as well as improve blood quality and circulation.
Signs of imbalance:
High/low blood pressure;
high cholesterol;
anxiety; agitation & restlessness;
mental illness involving delusions such as schizophrenia; palpitations,
depression of the ‘downhearted’ variety; insomnia;
poor memory;
excessively sweaty especially in the palms;
poor circulation; an overly red or pale complexion;
dull eyes, speech problems like stammering;
excessively social, needing parties and drama (talking a lot and using big hand gestures) or unsocial ,
avoiding people altogether; poor digestion and absorption; confusion ;
pain or stiffness over the shoulder.
The workshop will focus on a yoga practice to stimulate the smooth flow of energy (prana, Ki, chi) through the Heart & Small Intestine meridians (energy channels). We will use acupressure points to alleviate common symptoms of imbalance and touch on how food and lifestyle can support the healthy functioning of the HEART & SMALL INTESTINE.
