Yoga nidra is an ancient, yet simple technique of conscious deep sleep. It allows us to slow down the brain and helps the body to relax and heal itself.
The most profound thing about the meditation is that it allows you to change your relationship with your thoughts, so that you can choose how to respond to life. Rather than being in a reactive pattern of fight or flight mode it will allow the entire body to slow down and heal; thus giving you an opportunity to enrich, sooth and nourish your everyday experience of life.
Is there an easy way to meditate? Yes… it’s called yoga nidra. All you have to do is lie down, listen and find yourself connecting with all that you are and everything that is.
During the meditation you will be asked to set an intention, (Sankalpa). An intention is the conscious placement of energy in the direction you want to nourish and create for your life. There are five qualities of an effective intention:
A few examples of an intention might be “I am healthy and whole”, “I am in alignment with life”, “I am at peace with myself as I am”.
The first three of the FREE yoga nidra recordings below are approximately half an hour in length, the last one (yoga nidra 4) is just 10 minutes long.
