Tai chi taster with Yoko

Saturday 29th June, 12 – 2pm

Tai chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th century China, tai chi is now practised around the world as a health promoting exercise.

Practicing Tai Chi has been scientifically proven to improve the immune system. Other health benefits include reduced stress, improved posture, balance and general mobility. Tai chi will help to make you feel calm, peaceful and relaxed.

Come and experience Tai chi in this taster workshop with gold medallist Yoko.

Suitable for complete beginners.

About Yoko

Yoko moved to the UK to study a Fine Art Degree at Chelsea Collage of Art in London in her early 20’s and continued her art in the East end of London exhibiting nationally and internationally.  Needing to reduce stress, as a busy mother of a 2 year old, Yoko began her training in Tai Chi 20 years ago and completed her teacher training in 2006.

In 2017 Yoko began studying Tai Chi and Qigong with Master Simon Watson, who is the only non-Chinese disciple of Professor Li Deyin and is the son of founder member of Longfei Taijiquan Association of Great Britain, Master Richard Watson, whom she has also had the privilege of studying with.

Under the guidance of Master Simon Yoko has achieved many successes at national and international levels and her greatest achievement in 2018 was winning four gold medals at the London Competition for Traditional Tai Chi Chuan, and she is the British National Tai Chi Champion of 2018 in hand and sword categories.  She won gold and multiple medals at the World Tai Chi Championships in Taiwan and has just won multiple medals at the London Competition for Traditional Tai Chi Chuan in June 2019.

Yoko is also a qualified reflexologist and Reiki healer and she runs a busy clinic along side teaching Tai Chi.
