Kate has practised meditation for many years and, finding meditation helped support her through a stressful period of her life, she decided to train further. In 2016 she undertook an 8 week programme, then went on to train as a mindfulness teacher for adults. Subsequently Kate undertook a Children’s mindfulness programme, as well training to deliver mindfulness for teenagers and young people. Her teachers had all spent time with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and included Buddhist Monks; their wisdom and teachings added a depth and solidity to her training. Kate attends meditation retreats to continue her learning and she has a regular meditation practice. She has worked in Berkhamsted at Bayoga and later led a regular class at Mind & Body Studio Berkhamsted. Currently Kate is running a long-term online meditation class. In 2023 she trained to teach Mindful Nature Connection and now runs her own retreats. She is keen to encourage and enable class members to discover how they can bring mindfulness into everyday life. She has run classes for diverse groups including business professionals, head teachers and nursing students.
Integrating meditation tips, mindful poetry, and sometimes sound healing instruments, alongside her soothing and comforting voice, Kate enables those joining her class to experience a voyage of self-discovery. Through the opportunity to develop a more balanced and relaxed way of being, participants will benefit from Kate’s professional background in health, as well as her Mental Health First Aid instructorship, and her training in dispute resolution, all further nourishing her mindfulness practice and class delivery.
