Yoga therapy

Yoga therapy is an adaptation of yoga designed to manage specific problems, be they physical, mental or emotional.

It’s practised by yoga teachers with specialised training. The aim is to help people with a wide range of health concerns, from back ache and migraines to stress and chronic fatigue.

Yoga therapy is recognised by the NHS as an effective complementary therapy and is regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

John Grimes

Yoga therapist

John discovered yoga more than 17 years ago, when looking for ways to cope with a stressful job and recover from a serious illness. Yoga achieved both.

John left his job in software to study at the Yoga for Health Foundation and later trained in yoga therapy with the Yoga Biomedical Trust and Yogacampus.

He’s now registered with the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

As a qualified yoga therapist, John can adapt yoga for people with health issues like lower back pain, high blood pressure, stress, anxiety, asthma and COPD.

Today, John says he’s calmer and more relaxed than ever. Yoga has changed his health and whole outlook on life, and this is something he wants to share.

Working with you one-to-one, John will tailor and develop a yoga sequence for you to practice regularly at home.
